When God called Jonah to preach repentance to the wicked people of Nineveh, he turned down the assignment and jumped on a ship heading for Tarshish instead! But once God made it known He was not joking, by having the men toss him into the ocean and a big fish devoured him up; he had no choice but to obey His command. "Nineveh must hear the Word of the Lord," so he is delivered on the shore like a piece of mail. Although the preaching was a success, the preacher is angry and discouraged and he must learn firsthand of God’s compassion for sinful men!
Our assignments are likewise; God’s command must be obeyed! Uniting Christians as one body is no simple task; God love us all, and wishes for us to bring The Good News Of The Gospel to light up the world, to repel the darkness.
