The Book of Joshua is the 6th book of the Holy Bible! The number six (6) is man’s spirit; mankind, six responsibilities; people; earthly or material things; anything of a physical nature. Joshua the first of twelve historical books, forges a link between the Pentateuch and the remainder of Israel’s history. Through three major military campaigns involving more that thirty enemy armies, the people of Israel learns a crucial lesson under Joshua’s capable leadership; victory comes through faith in God and obedience to His Word, rather than through military might or numerical superiority.
The title of the book is appropriately named after its central figure, Joshua. After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord. The Lord spoke to Joshua; Now therefore arise go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them- the children of Israel. The first four chapters gives a biblical account of the preparation and the obedience it takes to achieve victory under the Word of God. Joshua was told several times by the Lord; "Be Strong and Courageous"! (Please read the Book of Joshua)
