WORD OF THE DAY (PASSOVER)

Luke 22:16;

The Lord longed to share the Passover meal with His disciples. He was less than twenty four hours away from fulfilling His mission. He must have had the feelings of relief and excitement. The Passover meal commemorated the Jews’ deliverance from slavery in Egypt (Ex. 13: 3-10) but t also had a much deeper spiritual application that would be fulfilled through His death. The account in Ex. it gives you a perfect picture of the redemption that Jesus provided for us through His blood. Jesus was sacrificed on the fourteenth day of the first month of the Jewish year, the exact day and time the Passover lambs were being slain at the Temple. "Christ, our Passover is sacrificed for us. (1 Cor. 5: 7;)
