Just as a coin has two sides, both valid, so Jesus Christ has two natures, both valid. Luke presents Christ in His humanity as the Son of Man; John portrays Him in His deity as the Son of God. John’s purpose is crystal clear; to set Christ in His deity in order to spark believing faith in his readers. John’s gospel is topical, not chronological, and it revolves around seven miracles and seven "I am" statements of Christ. Following an extended eyewitness description of the Upper Room meal and discourse, John records events leading up to the Resurrection, the final climatic proof that Jesus is who He claims to be– the Son of God.
The first five verses of his opening chapter in his book gives this account: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it".
These five verses explains without a doubt two major facts (Truth); who Jesus is, and where we stand in Him. His life is the light that shines in us! If you are silent about the name of Jesus, it means you light is dull and there is no life in you! Jesus said. "I have come as a light into the world, that whoever (who so ever) believes in Me should NOT abide in darkness. And if anyone (anyone) hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him, for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. For I have not spoken on my own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life; therefore what- ever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.
Even though we see a clear picture of Jesus Christ, I want you to recognize just who you are in Christ (THE LIGHT) if you didn’t know this, you know it now! Speak the Word of God to everyone you know!
